TRANSPORTATION

The fee for full year/round trip bus transportation in 2008-2009 is approximately $2,492 of which approximately $826 is reimbursed by the state.  Transportation is billed three times a year (October, January, April - $830.00 a quarter) to allow for adjustments in the need for transportation that occur throughout the year.  State reimbursement is only available to parents who complete and submit the necessary forms (2008-09 Doane Academy’s Transportation Questionnaire/B6T - Application for Private School Transportation) before school starts.  Contact Alice McGee.

UNIFORMS

Uniforms are required of all students PreK-12.  Specific information on the requirements and estimated costs are available in the Admission Office.  The Flynn & O’Hara Uniform Company of Philadelphia is our exclusive supplier.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

The School offers a faculty supervised extended day program for Lower School students weekdays from 7:00 – 8:15 a.m. and from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.  Parents may enroll their children for the full year or for the semester.  The program is not available on days when the School is not in session or when there is a scheduled noon dismissal.

The weekly fee for afternoon extended day is $60.  Daily rates are billed at $15 per day for afternoons.  The weekly fee for morning extended day is $15.  There is no charge for extended day when parents are meeting with teachers or participating in a parent organization activity.

INTERIM AND OVERNIGHT TRIPS

Students in grades 3-12 participate in a content immersion, community service, or outdoor skills/leadership training experience for 2-3 days during the school year.  Admission and transportation expenses are included in the tuition.  Costs for extended trips, within or outside of the country are not included in tuition and are paid directly to travel agencies.

FOOD PROGRAMS

Hot lunch and salad lunch options are provided on a fee per month or per week basis at the cost of $4.00 per day for Lower School and $4.20 per day for Upper School.  Special occasion dinners, such as the traditional Christmas Mystery Dinner and Class Night Dinner, are included in the Activity/Book Fee and/or supported by gifts from alumni and parents.
